A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is a 1,000,000-square-foot art complex, located at the fork in the Chicago River, began with a pair of dice. Spatial and circulatory qualities of Chicago precedents were remixed, from which patterns were developed to house specific programs, and then integrated into neighborhoods designed to serve different user groups. Where the five neighborhoods intersect, plazas were created to provide opportunities for large group assembly. Nancy Gislason Award, UIC Year Show 2012. Featured on The Draftery.
